The photoelectric light sensor is an intelligent automatic lighting controller that operates based on ambient light intensity. It automatically turns the lights OFF during the daytime and ON at night, providing energy-efficient and maintenance-free lighting control.
It is widely used for street lighting, factories, ports, gardens, schools, and other outdoor facilities. It can also be connected to residential lighting, illuminated advertising signs, neon lights, security lighting, and other automatic lighting applications.
The automatic switch consists of a built-in power supply, an electronic sensing element, and an internal relay. During daylight, as the ambient light intensity increases, the current passing through the light-sensitive element also increases, causing the relay to switch OFF and disconnect the lighting load. When ambient light falls below a preset level at dusk, the current decreases, activating the relay to automatically switch the lights ON until daylight returns.
Installation Notes
- Avoid installing the photocell in locations with insufficient daylight exposure or where it is directly affected by nearby artificial light sources, as this may interfere with its sensing performance.
- The white wire should be connected to the power supply (Line/Input), while the red wire should be connected to the lighting load (Output).
- When testing the product during daylight or under strong lighting conditions, cover the sensor with an opaque material to simulate darkness.
- For outdoor installations, ensure that the blue sensing window faces upward to achieve the best sensing performance and reliable operation.
